We're always drawn to products that combine the use of time honoured and proven materials with innovative design. For most people, the mere mention of terracotta brings to mind a traditional clay pot; by using the technique of slip-casting, Megumi Yoshida is able to reference forms more akin to gemstones and modern architecture than pottery. The resulting marriage of form and material is unexpected and unique making for a decorative twist on a purely functional object.
